Connection keeps dropping - how automatically reconnect?

Just created a MySQL database on Godaddy.
I can sort-of use TOAD, but it constantly tells me the connection has been lost. Whether looking at data, creating a table, whatever it drops the connection instantly. Every command I have to hit the F5 twice to execute it.
Is there a way to get TOAD for MySQL to reconnect automatically?
Or, is this a Godaddy problem? I don't have this with databases on any of the other web host servers, just this one.
Anyhow, HOW do I set TOAD to reconnect and/or keep the connection alive?
