Installer exits after first 'next'

Today I tried to install 6.0 but without success.

When I run the installer the first "Welcome to the Toad forMySQL...." screen pops up. When I click next I directly get an Windowserror that "This program might not have installed correctly".

System info:
Windows 7 Professional N, x64, 4GB RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo P8600

I installed a beta version of 6.0 before but removed it sometime later. I alsotried removing 5.0 first, but no success. Running the installer in capabilitymode doesn't work either...

Any tips?

Edit: I re-downloaded 5.0, but that installer gives the exact same result...

Please try silent install:
1.Copy the .exe installer to your local drive, say c:\temp
2.Run the following command
"Toadfor<platform><version>.exe" /L*v "c:\temp\installLog.txt"
3. Wait for about 10 minutes and see if Toad get installed successfully
4. If not, please send the installLog.txt to us for investigation

Attachment installLog.txt (218.6 K)

Hi Kiki,

I tried to do the silent install, but the normal install screen pops up with the same result. However it does create a log file. (See attachment).

I used the following command:
D:\Downloads>"Quest_ToadforMySQLFreeware_60.exe" /L*v "D:\Downloads\installLog.txt"

I have a XP 32bit PC and a Win7 64bit PC.

My installation failed on the first NEXT on the Windows 7 install.
However it all worked fine on my XP PC.

Silent install from cmd prompt failed on my WIn764bit PC too:
Check out these telling lines:

Looks like a problem with the Wise installer and Windows 7 Professional x64 :-(

Hi!

I had the same problem, but I fix it (on windows 7 x64, MSI notebook):

1) copy installer file to the root dir, eg. d:\ "d:\<filename>.exe"
2) run command console and type into it:
d:\<filename>.exe /quiet

when <filename> replace with your real name of installer file.

Thanks Tommee.

I also got it to work by first installing in XP MODE virtual machine and then running it as a virtual application.

However the your method is far better than that. Thanks so much :-D
