Exporting Ascii values instead of hex ...???

I have created a table with one column called "text" having datatype BLOB. I have been collecting data from an api and the text is in the form HEX values.When I try to export the data into excel file , I see only hex values being exported .
What should I be doing if I want to export Ascii instead ??
