Results of uncompress data shown in Hex instead of UTF-8

When I run the "select uncompress(data) from event_activity limit 0,100;" using the mysql command line, it displays the data normally. When I execute the same query using toad, the results are shown in HEX instead of the UTF-8 format. This looks like a problem that was fixed in earlier versions of Toad.

Is there a way to force the results to be displayed in UTF-8?
