Heyas,
downloaded and installed. Looks good so far. However, Collaboration festure seems a bit off the core competence of a database client. Tried it out nonetheless, seems it can't be configured to use the proxy settings. A direct access to the internet is more or less not allowed from our office :(

Marc,
We are hoping that users will see the new collaboration as an extension of help. Currently, you have Toad for MySQL up and running on your workstation. When you run into an issue that you need to research, you open your web browser and jump into a search engine to look for answers. What we’re trying to do with collaboration, is cut out the nine steps it takes between your desire for an answer and finding it.
I’m going to check into the proxy issue. I was under the impression that the collaboration was using the same proxy as your internet browser. Are you using IE, FireFox, Opera? We really want the collaboration experience to be smooth and seamless.

Heyas Dwight,
i set the proxy settings in the IE manually (we have automatic proxy configuration) and the collaboration view works! I have lots of entries there, but only the time, subject and poster.
What i am missing is: - search function - possibility to change toad browser window component to firefox (for cookies and proxy settings) - i had to sign in to toadformysql a second time because the toad browser does not know i have been logged into the site using firefox - a preview of the message body (currently, i only see the subject)
In general, perhaps a more tree based view of forums, threads and posts with a decent post preview would work better (at least for me).
I could really imagine to use the feature (especially during beta tests i regularly attend for DB/2 and MySQL versions), it will allow me to post screenies and errors more easily.
Looking forward to see it in the DB/2 v5b drop :D
*two thumbs up* Keep up the good work! regards /M

Marc, Thanks for that feedback! I’m going to pass this along to the person who is working on the collaboration module. Folks, your feedback, suggests, rants, and words are gold to us. Please don’t hold back from sharing with us. We treasure your comments; positive or negative.
