Hi, i downloaded the latest copy of toad for mysql. when i run it, it shows the blue "initialising wise installation wizard" box followed by the "welcome to the toad for mysql freeware installation wizard". once i click next, it just disappear. i've already set its compatibility level to window xp sp2 but still unable to install.

I am experiencing something similar with Windows XP SP3.  It initializes the installation wizard and then I get a Windows Installer screen with various switches and options.  When I click OK, which is the only option, it disappears and the software does not install.

Hi,

I have the same problem on our Windows 7 machines. I had to ask our Domain Administrator to log in and install the Toad (4.x, 5.x, 6.x) for me although my user has also Administrator rights.

Last he installed the 5.x version and it was buggy so I am still using 4.x. I would like to move to 6.x version, but asking always Domain Admin to install me a program is quite ... impractical.

Does anybody else experience this problem? Do you need some logs or event messages to track this down? How can I help to fix this?

Thanks.

Hello everyone,
Please try silent install to workaround such issue:

1.Download the .exe installer to your local drive, say c:\temp

2.For windows 7 and Vista users, make sure you open command window with admin privilege. You can type "cmd" in start menu, and right click "run as Administrater" to invoke it.

3. Run the silent install command
"ToadforMySQL<version>.exe" /S /L*v "c:\temp\installLog.txt"

4. Wait about 15 minutes and check the log file to confirm the install complete successful.

Let me know if you run into any issues.

Hi,

I tried the silent install, but just a Windows Installer opens and nothing else - see the screentshot.

Any other idea?

Thanks. T.
