Toad 5.0.0.145: Unable to cast object

Since some time I got errors on the stable TOAD, so I'm trying the beta version. Only, again it creates errors which I now cannot ignore.
When I try to view table contents I get:
System.InvalidCastException
Unable to cast object of type 'DevExpress.XtraEditors.Repository.RepositoryItemTextEdit' to type 'DevExpress.XtraEditors.Repository.RepositoryItemDateEdit'.
Stack Trace:
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.MarshaledInvoke(Control caller, Delegate method, Object[] args, Boolean synchronous)
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.Invoke(Delegate method, Object[] args)
at Quest.Toad.Util.Global.Invoke(Delegate handler, Object[] args)
at Quest.Toad.Db.ToadDataAdapter.RaiseSchemaReady(Object sender, FastTableArgs args, Boolean invokeRequired)
at Quest.Toad.Db.ToadDataAdapter.InternalReadBackground()
and then it doesn't show anything anymore.
It isn't the case on every table, but I cannot figure out when or what.
Any suggestions on how to investigate?

I'm a new Toad user, just downloaded the app and connected to my database. I get the same error.
Unable to cast object of type 'DevExpress.XtraEditors.Repository.RepositoryItemTextEdit' to type 'DevExpress.XtraEditors.Repository.RepositoryItemDateEdit'.
Any ideas?
