Previous version (5.1.56) worked fine. My hosting company (BlueHost) upgraded to 5.1.8 and now Toad won't connect (gets a Bad Handshake error). I upgraded to the Toad Beta version and that didn't help. Any ideas?

This worked for me. Right click on the connection, go to Properties and click on "Use MySQL libraries".

Thanks for the reply.

With libmysql.ddl and another tweak (changed host to be my remote host
instead of localhost) I was able to again SSH into my remote mysql instance.
Thanks for the help !
