grid font size change ignored mostly

In Tools, Options, Environnment, Grid there is a field to set the font size of output data in the grids (the Result Sets). But it is ignored for new grids/result sets.
If you change it, the font changes, but if you run a new query the results are in the default font which I find very small.
Seems like a bug. Is there a workaround or patch? I have 5.0.0.345.

Run an Editor query with results -- the results set should have font issues.

I tried Lucida Console 11, courier , tahoma 10, tahoma 11, tahoma 14. I think the default is tahoma 8.
The new font is used for column headings, and if you select cells from the grid, but not for unselected cells in new grids.
Exact procedure:
1. in an Editor window execute a query with F9 such as
select 1, 2, 2.3433, 4.32423532, 'abcd', 'I am Tom.';
2 change font to Tahoma 11 in Tools, Options, Environnment, Grid . The font in the table changes.
3. execute the query again. The new grid will be in the old font not Tahoma 11.
I'll try to attach some screen shots in another post.
My environment--
Windows xp pro sp3
Display properties, Appearance-
Windows XP style
font size - Large fonts
advanced- I may have changed (increased) some font sizes--current settings are:
icon text tahoma 10 pt.
inactive title bar 14
menu 10
msg box 10
palette title 9
sele'd items 10
tooltip 10

1 set font to Tahoma 11.- current grid changes correctly.

Missed a key piece of information right at the very beginning of this thread. :)
Try to update to the latest version of Toad for MySQL (Version 6.0.1). That's what I was using to test the issue on.
