Toad for MySQL won't start

Hey folks,
I'm getting this error message when I try to start Toad for MySQL (6.0.1.1723):

System.BadImageFormatException
Die Datei oder Assembly "System.Runtime.Serialization.Formatters.Soap, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" oder eine Abhängigkeit davon wurde nicht gefunden. Im Modul wurde ein Assemblymanifest erwartet.
Stack Trace:
bei Quest.Toad.Settings.ToadSettings.LoadSettings(String fileName)
bei Quest.Toad.Settings.ToadSettings.LoadSettings()
bei Quest.Toad.StartupForm.Main(String[] args)

After pressing the ok button the Toad splash screen appears, the progress bar starts to run, but after about one third of it, Toad is gone.
I'm using Windows 7 Enterprise 64 Bit, all updates/patches. A collegue of mine has almost the same machine, Toad's working there...
Does anyone have an advice?

Something seems to have become corrupted in your installation.
The first thing to try would be to wipe your settings and see if Toad starts working again. In Windows 7 the directory will be here.
C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for MySQL Freeware 6.0
Make sure Toad is not running and then either rename or delete this directory and try to restart Toad and when completed try to restart the application.

Yeah, I tried that. No change.
The directories are created again, and the action.log says:
11/29/2011 18:15:55: ApplicationInitializationStarted UAC
11/29/2011 18:15:55: ApplicationException BadImageFormatException
I forgot to mention: the error first shows up during installation. At the end of the install process a window pops up "Toad is optimizing the code allowing the application to load end execute faster...". Below this it tells one what's going on in the kitchen... the error message pops up during "Creating plugin cache".
