Toad 6.3 freezes completely when a database goes down

If I have a connected session to a DB, and the DB is restarted or something, Toad just freezes to the point where I have to kill it and restart it.

Same issue for me. If I'm vpn'd into the mysql server network and my vpn goes down, most of the toad freezes to the point I have to kill. Other times, I receive all sorts of application errors and then have to kill it.
