Scroll wheel modifies query results

Hi, I noticed that when I run a query, click on a number or date field in the results, and then scroll my mouse wheel, it doesn't scroll the results up and down, it changes the value of the data in my result set.

1) Is there a way to stop this? (or do I need to train myself not to use the scroll wheel?)

2) Is it changing any data saved in the tables? Does it cause locks in the tables?
