Cannot connect to MySQL at version 6.3 but can at 4.6

I have no password on the User account. All settings are the same mu 4.6 connection which still works fine. my MySQL is version 4.016. Could it be that it is not supported at 6.3 of TOAD?

Hello,
no password on the user account isn't a good idea :)
i've just tested : with TOAD 6.0, you cannot create a user without a password.
