Issues exporting from toad for MySQL

Hello
I have an automated job created with exporting data from MySQL db into Excel. the user has reported that she didn't see expected data in extract. When I started researching the issue I have noticed that the data she didn't find in the Excel doc is indeed in the db - was entered with carriage returns. for whatever reason Excel does not recognize characters after the carriage returns in the export job. Any thoughts and ideas are greatly appreciated.
