Import of Blob column

I was hoping to use a toad import wizard and subsequently generated template to automate an data import.
I automate the export of a particular table to a .csv file and subsequently import.
This table contains a filed of type blob which is not importing properly
the following error is displayed
1265: Data truncated for column 'colname' row x
The issue may be related to the export of course. Im not sure how to verify that scenario. manually doing this via mysqldump works just fine.
Any help or experiences would be appreciated.
