Is it possible to use TOAD in read-only mode?

I want to ensure that I can't write to any table or accidentally change any values.  Is it possible to explore or view a MySQL database in read-only mode?   Also is it possible for TOAD to log any actions that are taken by a user in an "audit" type of log, which will track a user's activities on a database?
