error when accessing DB

All,
I am completely new to everything SQL related, and i apologize in advance if this an easy question or if this is not the right place to pose this question. anyways...
It seems as though i have accidentally saved a SELECT statement as part of my DB. now, every time i try to access that DB, i get a syntax error and an error that says "Toad needs to close". how can i remove this syntax so that i can use this DB again?
